 Evening Storm Clouds Gather near Sunset



 
 
My youngest wanted to go for a walk last evening and, despite having other things to do, I decided to go. The skies were very mixed with breaks here and there. We walked perhaps 1/2 mile when we saw, to the west, gray, foreboding clouds and we could see streamers of rain coming down from them. We decided to cut the walk short, but I managed to get this tree and the edge of that storm cloud coming our way. It was very pretty and I told my offspring that I love clouds because they are ever changing and make scenes new every time I shoot.

Wednesday: Closeup/Macro

I took this photo during the same walk as the other photo in this post. I happened to turn away from the storm clouds and saw these purple clematis flowers climbing up a fence post. Purple is my favorite color, and with the grays of the storm clouds, and the greens of summer, the purple really stood out.

Red Tinged Clouds over the Trees Photo of the Day 345/366 I took the photo last week on the way home. It was a wonderful sunset sky and I couldn't pass up taking a number of shots while it was available. These clouds with the red edges from the setting sun were a wonderful sight over these trees just behind the rolling field in the foreground. A nice evening sky for sure.

    Photo of the Day 307/365  Autumn Colors on Display by the Creek This photo was taken last weekend on our mini-vacation. We were on our way home and happened to find a pull-off - in the rain - and I took some photos by this creek. The colors just seemed to pop in the damp drizzly weather but the camera couldn't quite capture the bright colors. I didn't want to over-edit it but this is close to what I experienced that moment.

Tracks into the Sunset Photo of the Day 342/366 This photo was taken last evening on the way home from work. I took a number of photos and could not quite get the sun peeking through  the clouds. This is the closest I got. I love the colors in the sky and the reflections in the railroad tracks. I've taken this scene before, but it always makes me think of life moving on and on, rolling into the sunset of life - as I get older, those thoughts become more frequent.
