Reds in the Sky before the Dawn

Photo of the Day 24/365

I had been hoping for a nice sunrise yesterday morning but there was a huge sweeping bank of clouds right where the sunrise would be. But as I looked closer, I saw the pinds and reds at the horizon and thought that if I cold make them the focus, I could get a good photo. I tried to frame that part of the sky with a nearby tree and I think I got what I wanted.

Cold Lakeside Blues of Winter

Images Exposed Daily Photo Challenge

Saturday Colors: This photo was taken a few years ago. I was on one of my lakeside morning hikes when I saw this scene. It is very close to a boat launch but in the winter there is very little activity. The air was crisp and cold but, at that time, there was no snow. The wind was brisk and the skies were clear and blue. The water reflected the sky's color and the scene was very pretty
