Streaming Sunset Clouds Photo of the Day 212/365 This photo is from my archives and was taken about five years ago. I had it there and knew it was a good shot, but I needed to edit it to make it appear the way I remembered. With some work in Lightroom, I was able to resurrect this good summer memory of the sunlight on the field and pastel streaming clouds. I'm glad I did not delete it and am very happy with the outcome on the photo.

Sunset Behind the Field Grass Photo of the Day 211/365 Last evening, I went out for a quick walk. I wasn't too hopeful as I was earlier that usual, but, as happens, I get surprised as what nature offers. I went to the neighbor's farm and explored a little into their field and found this scene. It took more han a few shots to get this image- but it was well worth it. It was very hot out but the sweat and effort paid off.

Sunset Sky between the Barns Photo of the Day 210/365 A couple of days ago, I went out for another one of my sunset walks and did get some nice sky shots but on the way back, I turned back and saw the deep red of the sunset peeking between the neighbor's barns. I decided that I had to try to get a shot. I did manage two shots before the red disappeared into the gray of night.

Pastel Colors as Evening Comes Photo of the Day 209/365 This photo was taken about a week ago. We were out for a drive near eveingin trying to see the sunset sky and the day did not disappoint. This scene was well after sunset. I saw the light pastel colors in the saky and asked my wife to slow down and was able to grab this photo. I did have to edit it to make the sky look as we saw it - it was very pretty.

Sunset on the Road Photo of the Day 208/365 This photo was taken this past week on one of our sunset hunting trips. I remember my wife turning onto this road and I asked her to slow down. I looked in the rear-view mirror and gauged that I had about 20 seconds to get a shot. I managed one frame before we had to speed up. A little editing to get the windshield grime out of the photo and I think it came out well.

Sun Setting over the Hills and Pines Photo of the Day 207/365 Last evening we went out to run an errand and on the way home, I caught a few, from the window, shots of the sky. My wife suggested going to a small church parking lot where there is a good west-facing vista. At first, I didn't want to be a bother, but in the end, we decided to stop there. There was no one in the lot and I got this great photo of the sun just peeping out between clouds at sunset.

Sunset Sky over the Hills and Field Photo of the Day 206/365 This week has been the week for sunsets. And not only that, the skies have been changing so rapidly and beautifully, that I am able to do many different captures. So many different scenes - so many different skies. This pho was taken from the car a few days ago. The colors were just magnificent against the deep green of the field and trees on the hill - I just HAD to take it.

Summer Morning Sky over the Valley Photo of the Day 205/365 On the way to work in the summer is rather boring most morning. The sun is too high most times for a good photo, and the most exciting thing is if deer run in front of my car. Yesterday morning was different, the clouds and sky were just right to allow me to pull over and grab a few photos before the sun came back out an brigthtened up the sky (too bright for photos).  I'm very happy with the edit and how it came out.

Another Farm, Another Sunset Photo of the Day 204/365 My wife and I decided that since we had a free night, we would do some shopping and go to dinner. We did and enjoyed ourselves at an old fashioned "burger joint". Even though it was a little early, I asked if we could take a back way home to try to see some photo opportunities. We did and this was one of the results. The sun was directly behind this barn but I was able to catch the scene.

Farm View after the Sunset Photo of the Day 203/365 A few nights ago, my wife and I decided to do an errand and then take a drive to chase the sunset sky. As we moved along, the sky and clouds kept changing and there were many photo opportunities.  Some worked out and others didn't.  Sometimes we had cars behind us, so I had to "shoot on the move" and other times, we could top and I could grab the shot. I enjoy these times and that night, the sky gave us many gifts. This was one of them.

Sunset Sky and a Country Road Photo of the Day 202/365 We decided to go for a long drive and try to see the countryside and the beautiful skies. As the day started to come to a close, the sky just put on a show for us. No matter where we turned, there was another view of the sunset sky. This show was one I particularly liked, because it wasn't just the sky but had the road for leading lines AND the pretty sky. I'll post more during this week, but the sky kept getting better.

Another Sunset River View Photo of the Day 201/365 I shot this photo a few days ago on, when we were driving home from a dinner out. We were driving down the street in the city closest to the river and I was looking for shots while we were moving. I had to turn around in my seat to get this shot but it was worth it. You can see the bench by the river walk and other details, but I liked the sun reflecting in the river, the most.

Sunset by the River Photo of the Day 200/365 Last evening, my wife and I went with my daughter, to a pot luck at a local synagogue. We had a nice meal and met new people and generally, had a good time. On the way to leave, I noticed the sun getting ready to set. My wife drove and I snapped a few photos, but this one was from the driveway across to the river and I really like how it came out.

Farm at Sunset Photo of the Day 199/365  I took this photo a few days ago. We were coming back from dinner and my wife suggested taking an alternate route home to try to catch the sunset. We were passing by this farm and I asked her to slow down. I managed this shot from the moving car (slowly, though). When I did a little editing, I realized that I visually missed much of the farm details. I was very fortunate and blessed to have gotten the barnyard and the animals, as well as the sky!!

Sunset Sky over Distant Blue Hills Photo of the Day 198/365 This photo was taken only two days ago. I posted a different photo from my travel that night yesterday. This view was zoomed all the way out. You can see the distant blue hills behind the tree line in the bottom of the photo. I really liked the contrast between the reds and golds in the sky with the blue hills. The sky itself was enough but the contrast made this one special.

Sunset over Silos Photo of the Day 197/365 We were out to dinner with some friends/neighbors who will be getting married and moving west soon. After wrapping up our conversations, my wife and I noticed the beautiful western sky. It was a little early for sunset, so my wife suggested a drive - so we did. On that drive home, we slowed down when I saw these silos just coming into view with the setting sun. I like the results!

Sunset after a Torrential Storm Photo of the Day 196/365 We had horrendous rains yesterday, north and east of us had flash floods  We haven't seen those here in South-Central PA, but we did get some torrential storms. Luck was on our side, and we didn't see the flooding, but we did see this spectacular sunset, and it cleared out the sky (a little) and brought the temperature down (a little) - but this is summer in PA.

Soft Morning Sky and Trees Photo of the Day 195/365 This photo could have been taken on my way to work, and was, but it was about 13 years ago. We've not seen many pretty morning skies, lately.  Pretty sunsets, sure, but the skies have been either too bright or too cloudy for this type of morning color. So, I decided to go back and see what I could find in my archives and this was there in July 2012. Enjoy!

Line of Sunset before the Rains Photo of the Day 194/365 This photo was taken a few weeks ago but I didn't get a chance to share it before. Today was a busy day, and I was photographing a karate event, so I did not get out to photograph nature, sunsets, or nature's beauty, but, instead, focused on people and techniques. I wanted to post something beautiful, so here is a shot of the sky just after sunset, and before the rainstorms came.

Barn, Hayfield, and Sunset Photo of the Day 193/365 Om the way home from the last night of Vacation Bible School, I saw the sky light up. We had seen on-and-off clouds and rain all day. It was hot and humid. However, on the way home we spied another farm where the sun was setting of the hayfield. We stopped and this time, I could capture the barn along with the field and the sunset - it was really worth the effort.

Another Warm Summer Sunset Photo of the Day 192/365 I took this photo this week but didn't have a chance to post it. The sunsets have been magnificent this year - but then I almost always think that. I wonder at the beauty that our creator let's us enjoy, both in sunsets and sunrises. The golds, reds, and blues - how they are mixed together - sometimes in smooth variations, sometimes in sweeps, sometimes in seeming paint strokes - no matter, beautiful in any way.

Misty Morning over the Valley Photo of the Day 191/365 Before I left for work, yesterday, I noted to my wife that there was a lot of fog about. She said it might be the windows due to the humidity. Well, some yes, and some no. On the way to work, there was a good deal of fog and I found a spot to pull off. The sun was trying to burn off the fog, but it was still hanging on in the valley and I got a few shots.

Another Sunset, Another Hayfield Photo of the Day 190/365 Once again, I found myself out on a drive at sunset and found another hayfield after the second cutting of hay. The hay bales were still in the field and the warm summer sun was setting.  These scenes don't last long as the farmers pick up the bales farily quickly so the field can produce another cutting later in the summer. I enjoy it while I can.

Sunset Sky Over Town Photo of the Day 189/365 I took this photo a couple of days ago.. We had been out to catch one photo of a field (posted yesterday) and on the way home through our little down.  My wife decided to drive through some of the side streets and on on particular street, the sky opened up between homes and I caught the glory of the sunset sky.

Sunset over the Second Cut of Hay Photo of the Day 188/365 Last eveing we drove to my son's home to pick up a few things and on the way home, I told my wife that this field would be a good location for a sunset photo. At about 8:00pm, we decided to try to get that shot and run another errand. I think that with a ittle editing, it was close to what I pre-visualized.

Clouds Blanket the Setting Sun Photo of the Day 187/365 Last evening, I had no real hope for an interesting sunset. We had been out with friends almost all day - which was really nice.  There was blue skies, no clouds, and warm temperatures. The cloudless sky did not bode well for a sunset, but I was very surprised when I saw the sun being slowly covered by the blankets of clouds on the horizon. I was able to get out there with my "big iron" - a Sony A7IV and get the shot. I think it was worth it.

Clouds Cross the Setting Sun Photo of the Day 186/365 I took this photo this week while hoping to catch a few clouds. Initially, I did not see the clouds but after a few minutes of waiting, they drifted across the horizon.  The thin band of clouds just wafted their way across the horizon and eventually, while I watched, they tried to cover the sun but only managed to cross over parts of it, before it set in the west. Zooming in as far as I could made this image possible.

Summer Sunset on the Road Photo of the Day 185/365 The day was a sad day and a nice day. The humidity had dropped and we wernt to our son's place to see his oldest cat. Unfortunately, we were there to visit the cat becuase he had to be put down. He was very old and it is for the best. There were tears, I took some photos of our kids and the cat and my daughter-in-law said to "enjoy the sunset," as we were leaving. I took a few photos on the way home and this was the best one. Here's to you, Nike (the cat) - may you be at peace.

Pretty Morning Sky Photo of the Day 184/365 I was on my normal drive into work yesterday, and among the gray clouds of the morning, I spotted this part of the sky. It almost looked like a sunrise. This time of yea, I almost NEVER, see the sunrise - at least at a place I can take photos. I pulled off the road and tried to capture what I saw. The golds and yellows among the clouds make me think of dawn and this was the result.

Touch of Sunset in a Rainy Sky Photo of the Day 183/365 It is halfway through the year already - and I am continually amazed at the skies we've been blessed with. This sky was taken a few nights ago when they're wan't much of an actual sunset, but the clouds moved around and opened up after the sunset, showing colors amongst the coming storms.

Sunset Afterglow Photo of the Day 182/365 I took this photo a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately, I did not post it as other things and other shots ovetook it. There were no amazing clouds or sunbeams - but there was this peaceful feeling about it that kept in near the front of my choices. So, today's the day - I needed a little peace today,so I decided to let it out of my recent shots. The slight clouds, the "wow" colors and glow - but peaceful and serene - yeah.
