  Fallen leaves on wooden stairs  I was just leaving for a walk when I noticed these wet leaves on our deck stairs.  The mood that I felt just seemed to convey the end of autumn. I have many more "fall color" photos to post but the season is waning, soon to be replaced by bitter cold, ice, and snow.  So here's to the soon-to-be end of Autumn.

  Cold autumn sunset behind my favorite tree  A cold autumn sun setting behind a tree in our neighbor's pasture. Some years, the leaves hang on for weeks.  This year, it shed within a few days.  The sun setting with the clouds streaming and the wind blowing made for a beautiful (yet cold) sunset.

Fence line and tracks going on to the hills on a cold autumn day The air was cold and the wind brisk but I had to stop when I saw the sun trying to shine on this field.  It only briefly touched the grasses but it was still bright enough to capture the fence line and tracks reaching back to the "back forty" of this farm.

  Little red barn down a dead end road with autumn colors This road was closed some time ago because the railroad crossing was dangerous.  However, there are still folks who live on it and I decided to drive back and take a look.  There were still a few trees with foliage and the colors were bright, despite to cold, gray day.

  Last bits of autumn colors on the trail Autumn tries to hang on as best it can.  I'm all for it.  I love the autumn colors and capture them until the last.  Along the lake is very windy and the leaves are swept away.  I found part of the trail that was sheltered and the sun lit up the remnants of Autumn.

  Sunset clouds over the valley I took this photo earlier in the week. The sunset grabbed me so hard that I pulled off into a stranger's driveway and jumped out and used my phone to grab it.  I missed the sun by a few seconds but the glow was still evident over the hill. A sunset to be thankful for on Thanksgiving day!

  Tracks into an Autumn sunset I saw the sunset clouds when I was leaving my office and knew I had to stop at a special spot.  This spot is where I can see down the railroad tracks reaching out to the west and sunsets can peak through.  This was just one of those days.
