The Son has Risen Indeed! Photo of the Day 91/366 This photo is one of my favorite sunrise photos. The sun had actually already risen and morning had started but it was early and the lighting of the grasses at the edge of the field made it feel so warm and inviting. This is one of my favorite photos and just the right one to share on Easter Morning! Blessing to you all!

Beautiful Morning in My Front Yard Photo of the Day 90/366 I took this photo earlier in the week. When you see this sight just getting into your car, you stop, and marvel at the day. In my case, you take some photos to try to capture the beauty, too. But on that day, it was an awesome start to a great day. The day proved busy, but just as nice as the sunrise.

Bands of Sunset Clouds with Trees Photo of the Day 89/366 While at our karate school last evening, I kept seeing the clouds change and become more beautiful. Since I am one of the head instructors, I don't feel I can just leave to take a photo. A number of my mates told me to look and then told me to GO TAKE A PICTURE, so I did - this was one of the best results! Thanks to my dojo-mates.

Late Afternoon at the Farm Photo of the Day 88/366 I took this photo a few years ago at our previous residence. This farm had undergone a transformation from a crop-based farm to a livestock-based farm (and has transformed more since this was taken). But in the light of the later afternoon, it was, and still is, a very peaceful spot full of good memories.

Streaks of Sunrise Clouds Framed by Pine Boughs Photo of the Day 87/366 I shot this photo yesterday morning. One local landowner had been putting stakes into his yard, which kept me from pulling onto the right-of-way to take photos. These stakes were presumably to keep the snowplows from straying. Those stakes gone and now I can get photos from this vantage point, again.

Rippled Sunrise Clouds over the Valley Photo of the Day 86/366 I took this photo last week. I saw the sunrise, but I was too late. The sun had risen and was covered by dark clouds. However, I looked at the horizon and spotted this patch of orange an gold. As you can see, the bright spots are reflecting the sun, which is above the orange clouds. I thought it interesting and beautiful.

Sun Setting Behind a Lonely Tree Photo of the Day 85/366 I shot this photo a few days ago. This tree is in my neighbor's back yard and features in many of my photos, simply because it is easy to get to at sunset. There are times when I'm busy with other things and realize, too late, that sunset is upon me, so I burst out of the door trying to capture "something". This is "something".

Memories of a Later Afternoon at the Beach Photo of the Day 84/366 This photo is from my archives and I love this photo in so many ways. It brings back really positive memories of our trips to Cape May. I remember capturing this photo as the sun was setting behind us. The moment was a very brief one where people weren't around us and the sound of the ocean was all that mattered.

Old Road to the Cemetery at Sunset Photo of the Day 83/366 I took this photo about a month ago while on a return trip from a local lake and state park. I was hoping for a sunset, but the clouds had other ideas. While riding home through the countryside, we came upon a small country church. I parked the car, as te sun was trying to set and provided some color in the sky. As I scouted around I saw this old road leading back to their graveyard when the colors came out and this was the result.

Sun Setting Through the Trees Photo of the Day 82/366 I took this photo last weekend and it languished on my computer. I reviewed my shots and found this one. The sky wasn't particularly fantastic and the scene was not catching - but it proved to be the shot for today. A hopeful ending to a very stressful week. The sunburst, the wispy clouds - hopeful peace.

Sunset Through the Pines Photo of the Day 81/366 I took this photo last weekend while out for a walk, I've been asked how I always get such pretty photos. The only thing I can answer is that I can see things others don't. I can look at a small scene and see how to capture it. This is such an example - we all pass photos of the sun coming through the trees, but do they see the opportunity, do they stop, look, move a little here and there, just to get what they saw to fit into the camera? Maybe it's the "hurry" - maybe it's the vision - unknown - but I can and will continue t do so.

Sunrise Sky Almost on Fire Photo of the Day 80/366 I took this photo the other morning with my "big" camera with my longest lens. I was trying to capture a glimpse of the sun rising but to no avail. The clouds were streaming down and this was one of the last shots before the veil of clouds dropped over the rising sun. There was SNOW falling from those clouds!

Big Sky just before Sunrise Photo of the Day 79/366 I took this photo yesterday, as usual, on my way to work. The sun was just about to make an appearance, but I was concerned that the clouds would squeeze it out.  So, I took my chances and tried for a wider view. In the end, I was right and the sunrise was hidden behind the clouds, but so be it!  I got a nice sky-scape with different cloud patterns, and wonderful colors - so who's to complain!   Quote of the Day: "You can't wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club." - Jack London     Primitive Ducks Images Exposed Daily Photo Challenge Tuesday Art I took this photo during our last visit to Winterthur Museum. The owner had enough resources to collect anything his heart desired and one of his passions was Americana. These duck decoys are very early ones in his collection. I hope that the ducks that looked on them had bad eyesight - but for art's sake, and for the time they were made, there...

Clouds Rising from the Sunset Photo of the Day 78/366 This photo was taken over the weekend while out on a golden hour walk. Sometimes, taking the shot with the sun in it is dramatic, and sometimes it just overpowers the scene. This was taken after the sunset and the clouds we spectacular. I liked how they seemed to rise from behind the tree and from the sunset.

Sunday Down the Road Photo of the Day 77/366 I took this photo last evening. I was out walking in the golden hour trying to find interesting subject and found a few. This one caught my eye. The sun had just set and the clouds were lit up in oranges and golds. The road presented almost always has traffic on it. To catch it, just then, with no vehicles, was nothing short of amazing. I did like the leading lines and the clouds and how it all came together to lead us into today.

Pastel Sky and Street Lights on Campus Photo of the Day 76/366 I shot this photo a couple of mornings ago while walking in from my car to my office. I see many pretty skies (in case you didn't notice) but catching one filling our campus with light, especially in the morning, can be a challenge. I thought this one, with soft pastel skies and the street lights made for a really nice scene. In a few weeks, the leaves will be out and the trees will be green and this scene won't be the same, so I enjoy all my views while I can.

Lone Dark Cloud Floating by the Sunrise Photo of the Day 75/366 I shot this photo yesterday morning. I didn't see much color when I started but as I got further on, I saw amazing colors near one of my favorite spots. As my oldest would say, "I did the thing" and pulled off the road and tried to capture the creation in front of me. The singular dark cloud caught my eye on this shot.

Old Mill and Mill Race Photo of the Day 74/366 I took this photo last week on one of my lunch time walks. The foliage is just right to capture this image. Once spring is in full swing, it will be almost impossible to see the mill for the greenery. It will almost be impossible to see the mill race for the beauty of the spring, too. During the winter, it's almost too bare to make a pretty image - and I'm too old to venture into the snow for such things (hah!).  In any, case, the timing was right, so the image was good.

Sun Kissing the Night Sky Photo of the Day 73/366 I shot this photo last evening.  I happened to look out the window and noticed the waning of the day and saw a little color so I ventured out. I was warmer than expected but as I walked down our road and into the neighbors yard, I spied the dark sky and the sun just skating the edge of the hill, saying good-night to all and I'll see you int the morning. The structure of the clouds also make this photo a success. The clouds almost seem heavy, bearing down on the waning day.

Sunset Sky and a Lone Tree Photo of the Day 72/366 This show was taken last week. I was out for a sunset walk, but I knew I was too late to catch the actual sunset. So, I ventured out anyway and tried to capture something  I actually told my family that if you drop me off somewhere for an hour, I'll find something to photograph. I like the clouds colors in this, especially.

Cold Wind Driven Sky over the Farm Photo of the Day 71/366 Yesterday, I decided to venture out and try to get a few photos.  Despite a cold on my part and the cold and extreme wind, I went.  For myself, and my body, it was a mistake. Despite four layers, I was shivering within 5 minutes of getting out of my car. I still pushed forward and managed to get few shots. This one was the best I could get. I really like the wild looking clouds over the barn and silo at the base of the photo. It's a keeper for me.

Sun Breaking through a Dark Morning Sky Photo of the Day 70/366 I took this photo a few days ago, of course, on the way to work. Hopefully, with the change (today) to Daylight Savings Time, I may see more sunsets again soon.  It all evens out in the end. I thought this one was really neat beacause when the sun broke through, the path between the trees seemed to light up, too. It didn't last very long and I was at the right place at the right time. I god lucky / blessed for this one.

Sunrise Sky from my Front Yard Photo of the Day 69/366 I took this photo yesterday morning while I was out early walking our little dog, Merlin. He tends to wander all over his fenced in front year. While he was wandering and doing his business, I looked to the east and saw the beautiful sunrise color just peeping out among the trees. I had to grab a shot with my phone and this was the outcom.

Waves of Clouds at Sunrise Photo of the Day 68/366 I took this photo yesterday morning on the way to work. I bands (or waves) of were much larger than this photo would suggest, but they were, unfortunately, shades of gray. The real color was at the horizon, so I shot this as far out as I could to catch the yellows and golds of the coming sunrise. For a rainy day, it turned out very nice.

Sunset and a Lone Tree Photo of the Day 67/366 I took this photo about a week ago. That evening there were many opportunities on the way home to nab some sunset photos. The skies were better in some of the other photos - more varied colors, or more varied, light - but this one just got to me with the golds and reds, and that one tree, by itself, with the sun behind - beautiful.

Late Afternoon Sky over the Pines Photo of the Day 66/366 I took this photo over a month ago. I've passed by posting it many times. I do love the way the sunset color is painting the clouds, especially near the horizon. I also love the transition into the blue sky. This scene is where I capture sunrises many times, so seeing the beautiful afternoon clouds was a treat.

Sunset through the Tall Grass Photo of the Day 65/366 I took this photo a couple of weeks ago. I was searching for a sunset. That afternoon, without clouds, just made for "blah" sunset. The colors were wonderful but I needed a subject to make up for the lack of clouds. I found some tall grass next to a field just before the sun set so this was the best I could come up with.

Afternoon Lake Reflections Photo of the Day 64/366 My youngest and I went for a hike to Pine Grove Furnace State Park yesterday. I was after lake shots and Fuller Lake did not disappoint.  The sky broke at one end allowing me to get this shot. The water was like glass and the reflections of the sky and the trees were spectacular. We hiked more than just the lake and there is another lake to explore next time. We want to come back a little later when spring has fully come into its own and the greens and flowers are rife for capturing.

Old Country Road at Sunset Photo of the Day 63/366 I took this photo last weekend when out for a longer drive with my youngest. We were early on our return as our home was hosting an event so we needed to 'waste some time".  I decide drive through our nearby game lands and take a few photos. It wasn't quite sunset but getting close. I was walking back to the car when I spotted this scene. I managed a couple of photos before the sun sank into the trees. This image represents what I saw then I snapped this shot.

Winter Sunset Photo of the Day 62/366 I shot this photo less than 2 weeks ago. The weather has shifted more towards warmer temperatures and I wanted to make sure I posted this sunset view over the snowy fields and hills. I love the shot but didn't get to post it due to other shots being just a bit better. So here it is before we turn the corner into spring (can't wait for that, either).

Sunrise Reflection on the Pond Photo of the Day 61/366 I took this photo earlier this week. It was a good week for sunrises. I caught my share of those photos that I can only get once or twice per year. This is another - there are only so many days where the sun is in a position that I can get to this pond and catch the reflection of the sunrise and the weather Gods looked favorably on me this year!
