Sunset and a Lone Tree

Photo of the Day 67/366

I took this photo about a week ago. That evening there were many opportunities on the way home to nab some sunset photos. The skies were better in some of the other photos - more varied colors, or more varied, light - but this one just got to me with the golds and reds, and that one tree, by itself, with the sun behind - beautiful.

This photo is of our pastor. He was preaching a sermon on Joy and was trying to demonstrate "exuberant joy" but the expression didn't quite make the emotion. A split second later, he had a huge smile on his face and he DID emote joy - but I caught this one and just had to post it with the category expression.

Red Tinged Clouds over the Trees Photo of the Day 345/366 I took the photo last week on the way home. It was a wonderful sunset sky and I couldn't pass up taking a number of shots while it was available. These clouds with the red edges from the setting sun were a wonderful sight over these trees just behind the rolling field in the foreground. A nice evening sky for sure.

Tracks into the Sunset Photo of the Day 342/366 This photo was taken last evening on the way home from work. I took a number of photos and could not quite get the sun peeking through  the clouds. This is the closest I got. I love the colors in the sky and the reflections in the railroad tracks. I've taken this scene before, but it always makes me think of life moving on and on, rolling into the sunset of life - as I get older, those thoughts become more frequent.

    Photo of the Day 307/365  Autumn Colors on Display by the Creek This photo was taken last weekend on our mini-vacation. We were on our way home and happened to find a pull-off - in the rain - and I took some photos by this creek. The colors just seemed to pop in the damp drizzly weather but the camera couldn't quite capture the bright colors. I didn't want to over-edit it but this is close to what I experienced that moment.
