Winter Sunset

Photo of the Day 62/366

I shot this photo less than 2 weeks ago. The weather has shifted more towards warmer temperatures and I wanted to make sure I posted this sunset view over the snowy fields and hills. I love the shot but didn't get to post it due to other shots being just a bit better. So here it is before we turn the corner into spring (can't wait for that, either).

Saturday Choice

This photo was taken a number of years ago when we were living in our previous home. I had ready access to a lake and would often hike around various parts of it in all weather conditions. This was one of those hikes in the waning winter times. The his was still visible but beginning to melt. It was, as I recall, quiet and quite peaceful with only the sound of the water lapping against the shore and trees. It was a much simpler time.

Red Tinged Clouds over the Trees Photo of the Day 345/366 I took the photo last week on the way home. It was a wonderful sunset sky and I couldn't pass up taking a number of shots while it was available. These clouds with the red edges from the setting sun were a wonderful sight over these trees just behind the rolling field in the foreground. A nice evening sky for sure.

    Photo of the Day 307/365  Autumn Colors on Display by the Creek This photo was taken last weekend on our mini-vacation. We were on our way home and happened to find a pull-off - in the rain - and I took some photos by this creek. The colors just seemed to pop in the damp drizzly weather but the camera couldn't quite capture the bright colors. I didn't want to over-edit it but this is close to what I experienced that moment.

Tracks into the Sunset Photo of the Day 342/366 This photo was taken last evening on the way home from work. I took a number of photos and could not quite get the sun peeking through  the clouds. This is the closest I got. I love the colors in the sky and the reflections in the railroad tracks. I've taken this scene before, but it always makes me think of life moving on and on, rolling into the sunset of life - as I get older, those thoughts become more frequent.
