Afternoon Sky at the Pond

Photo of the Day 78/365

This photo was taken a few years ago near our cabin and was part of my father-in-law's property. The time of years was nearly the same as now. In some way, I'm posting this in honor of the memories I have of my father-in-law and the gifts of life he gave us. He passed away last week and the family is grieving. He seemed to marvel at my photos so this one is for him.

Wednesday Design: This photo was taken about 14 years ago on a trip with my youngest ot Toronto. We stayed downtown and visited the shopping areas, and this mall specifically more than a few times. I got a few photos of this sculpture / mobile of geese hanging and thought how thoughtful and interesting it was. It definitely got my attention. I hope it's still there.

Red Tinged Clouds over the Trees Photo of the Day 345/366 I took the photo last week on the way home. It was a wonderful sunset sky and I couldn't pass up taking a number of shots while it was available. These clouds with the red edges from the setting sun were a wonderful sight over these trees just behind the rolling field in the foreground. A nice evening sky for sure.

    Photo of the Day 307/365  Autumn Colors on Display by the Creek This photo was taken last weekend on our mini-vacation. We were on our way home and happened to find a pull-off - in the rain - and I took some photos by this creek. The colors just seemed to pop in the damp drizzly weather but the camera couldn't quite capture the bright colors. I didn't want to over-edit it but this is close to what I experienced that moment.

Tracks into the Sunset Photo of the Day 342/366 This photo was taken last evening on the way home from work. I took a number of photos and could not quite get the sun peeking through  the clouds. This is the closest I got. I love the colors in the sky and the reflections in the railroad tracks. I've taken this scene before, but it always makes me think of life moving on and on, rolling into the sunset of life - as I get older, those thoughts become more frequent.
