I almost missed this sunset sky last evening. I was late getting out of work and from my window, it was very gray. However, I saw color as I was driving. I was fortunate to pull into a parking lot and caught the last colors across the fields. Quote of the day: "Duty makes us do things well, but love makes us do them beautifully." - Phillips Brooks
Cliffs in Acadia (wish I was there again) Photo of the Day 165/365 This image, which I took last week, was taken at Raven's Nest on Schoodic Peninsula within Acadia National Park - in Maine. This area of the country is, indeed, my happy place. I have been there more than 20 times and I can ALWAYS find something wonderful and breathtaking to photograph. My younger self might have moved there, but life doesn't alway give you what you want, so I must be happy with visits and memories.
Summer Sunset over the Farm Photo of the Day 234/365 Thjis photo was taken a month or two ago and I had a hard time making this photo come out the way my eyes saw it. The bright sky just made the trees and barn dark shapes. In fact, in the original, you couild not see the barn at all. However, when I took the photo, I saw it and want to capture it and see it - but the camera's sensor failed me - so I did work editing it to get it as close as I could to what I saw - I think it was worth it.
Snow and Ice by the Lake Photo of the Day 51/365 This photo was taken at our local State Park (Gifford Pinchot) and it was a cold sunset sky. It had been cold enough for some time for the lake to freeze over. The snow had started to melt due to the sunshine and that eveing, the sunset was wonderful (but cold). That lade is and will be, one of my fave local spots.
