In our years and years of travel to Acadia National Park, we have seen most of the accessible sights in the park. I'm no rock or mountain climber, so the trails with iron rungs for climbing are off my list, but I found mention of this sight and wanted to see it.  It is on no official map (but used to be) and it was relatively easy to get to. But one had to be careful with the sheer drops, but the view, oh the view.  It was worth the research and the hike. If you venture there, caution is needed as the cliffs are unprotected for hikers.

Sunset Setting Through the Trees

This shot was from the first night of our vacation. The clouds were thin and the sun set beautifully over the cove. I managed this shot with the longest lens I had.

Red Tinged Clouds over the Trees Photo of the Day 345/366 I took the photo last week on the way home. It was a wonderful sunset sky and I couldn't pass up taking a number of shots while it was available. These clouds with the red edges from the setting sun were a wonderful sight over these trees just behind the rolling field in the foreground. A nice evening sky for sure.

    Photo of the Day 307/365  Autumn Colors on Display by the Creek This photo was taken last weekend on our mini-vacation. We were on our way home and happened to find a pull-off - in the rain - and I took some photos by this creek. The colors just seemed to pop in the damp drizzly weather but the camera couldn't quite capture the bright colors. I didn't want to over-edit it but this is close to what I experienced that moment.

Tracks into the Sunset Photo of the Day 342/366 This photo was taken last evening on the way home from work. I took a number of photos and could not quite get the sun peeking through  the clouds. This is the closest I got. I love the colors in the sky and the reflections in the railroad tracks. I've taken this scene before, but it always makes me think of life moving on and on, rolling into the sunset of life - as I get older, those thoughts become more frequent.
