 Lupines on Pretty Marsh


 

We had driven all over and were going on new roads and came across a dirt pull-off where a gent was trying to get his boat into the water. I saw the stand of Lupines against the marsh's water and the trees behind. I thought it was a wonderful composition, not just of flowers, but of what the inland of Mt. Desert Island has to offer - and not always the coastal vibe.

Sunday: Night

Dusk glow in the sky and water after sunset

We had been haunting a few good "sunset" spots and this shot was taken after the sun had set but before the glow was gone. While technically not a "night" photo, it was a close as I could get. Where we were staying, once it got dark, there were not lights - hence the term "quite side".

Red Tinged Clouds over the Trees Photo of the Day 345/366 I took the photo last week on the way home. It was a wonderful sunset sky and I couldn't pass up taking a number of shots while it was available. These clouds with the red edges from the setting sun were a wonderful sight over these trees just behind the rolling field in the foreground. A nice evening sky for sure.

    Photo of the Day 307/365  Autumn Colors on Display by the Creek This photo was taken last weekend on our mini-vacation. We were on our way home and happened to find a pull-off - in the rain - and I took some photos by this creek. The colors just seemed to pop in the damp drizzly weather but the camera couldn't quite capture the bright colors. I didn't want to over-edit it but this is close to what I experienced that moment.

Tracks into the Sunset Photo of the Day 342/366 This photo was taken last evening on the way home from work. I took a number of photos and could not quite get the sun peeking through  the clouds. This is the closest I got. I love the colors in the sky and the reflections in the railroad tracks. I've taken this scene before, but it always makes me think of life moving on and on, rolling into the sunset of life - as I get older, those thoughts become more frequent.
