Misty Morning at the Lake


This photo, taken a couple of years ago came up when I was looking through some older photos. I don't believe I have posted it before but if I did, it's a keeper anyway. My whole demeanor this week has been a bit moody and misty, so this photo really captures my being. The fog, the reflection, the gray - it just all fits. Coming back from vacation might have had something to do with it....

Saturday: Choice

Alone on a country road
 
Coupled with the other photo, I chose this because it shows another aspect of my week. I get the feelings of being alone quite often. and while I have no "real" reason, it's just a feeling - a sense - of traveling through my days alone. I have cycles working with and being with the best people, but when they aren't there, this place I'm in is very lonely. The mood is temporary, and I will climb out, but my photography is a way, sometimes, to put my moods outside myself.

Red Tinged Clouds over the Trees Photo of the Day 345/366 I took the photo last week on the way home. It was a wonderful sunset sky and I couldn't pass up taking a number of shots while it was available. These clouds with the red edges from the setting sun were a wonderful sight over these trees just behind the rolling field in the foreground. A nice evening sky for sure.

    Photo of the Day 307/365  Autumn Colors on Display by the Creek This photo was taken last weekend on our mini-vacation. We were on our way home and happened to find a pull-off - in the rain - and I took some photos by this creek. The colors just seemed to pop in the damp drizzly weather but the camera couldn't quite capture the bright colors. I didn't want to over-edit it but this is close to what I experienced that moment.

Tracks into the Sunset Photo of the Day 342/366 This photo was taken last evening on the way home from work. I took a number of photos and could not quite get the sun peeking through  the clouds. This is the closest I got. I love the colors in the sky and the reflections in the railroad tracks. I've taken this scene before, but it always makes me think of life moving on and on, rolling into the sunset of life - as I get older, those thoughts become more frequent.
