Dirt Road through the Woods

 


 

My youngest and I went for a walk earlier in the week and she said we should take this side road. "It's kind of an alley" she said. It was the road behind a development to the sewage treatment plant for the homes. It wound around through the woods. I saw this view and despite the heat and humidity, it WAS cooler and gave me the feeling of a road through the woods.

This photo was taken a few summers ago at Cape May, NJ. It was a shot at Sunset Beach (no surprise) and I happened to catch a couple in their beach chairs, just watching the sunset. It carries so many possible meaning - but I choose to just go with "together at sunset".

Red Tinged Clouds over the Trees Photo of the Day 345/366 I took the photo last week on the way home. It was a wonderful sunset sky and I couldn't pass up taking a number of shots while it was available. These clouds with the red edges from the setting sun were a wonderful sight over these trees just behind the rolling field in the foreground. A nice evening sky for sure.

    Photo of the Day 307/365  Autumn Colors on Display by the Creek This photo was taken last weekend on our mini-vacation. We were on our way home and happened to find a pull-off - in the rain - and I took some photos by this creek. The colors just seemed to pop in the damp drizzly weather but the camera couldn't quite capture the bright colors. I didn't want to over-edit it but this is close to what I experienced that moment.

Tracks into the Sunset Photo of the Day 342/366 This photo was taken last evening on the way home from work. I took a number of photos and could not quite get the sun peeking through  the clouds. This is the closest I got. I love the colors in the sky and the reflections in the railroad tracks. I've taken this scene before, but it always makes me think of life moving on and on, rolling into the sunset of life - as I get older, those thoughts become more frequent.
