Afternoon Sunshine Through the Trees




This photo, taken on a long walk with my youngest child, was a happenstance shot. We were walking when I noticed the sunshine flowing in the grasses as we walked. I happened to look up as we went by and saw the sun had come out from behind a cloud and the light was coming through the trees. I liked the sunshine both from behind the tree and in the grasses at their base.

This photo was taken some years ago on one of our last family trips to the Jersey Shore. This was one of my children trying to take a photo of the sunrise coming up over the Atlantic ocean. Those were different times and life has changed so much since then. These were happier and simpler times - but that's what life is all about - changes.

Red Tinged Clouds over the Trees Photo of the Day 345/366 I took the photo last week on the way home. It was a wonderful sunset sky and I couldn't pass up taking a number of shots while it was available. These clouds with the red edges from the setting sun were a wonderful sight over these trees just behind the rolling field in the foreground. A nice evening sky for sure.

    Photo of the Day 307/365  Autumn Colors on Display by the Creek This photo was taken last weekend on our mini-vacation. We were on our way home and happened to find a pull-off - in the rain - and I took some photos by this creek. The colors just seemed to pop in the damp drizzly weather but the camera couldn't quite capture the bright colors. I didn't want to over-edit it but this is close to what I experienced that moment.

Tracks into the Sunset Photo of the Day 342/366 This photo was taken last evening on the way home from work. I took a number of photos and could not quite get the sun peeking through  the clouds. This is the closest I got. I love the colors in the sky and the reflections in the railroad tracks. I've taken this scene before, but it always makes me think of life moving on and on, rolling into the sunset of life - as I get older, those thoughts become more frequent.
