Bright Sunset over the Farm

We had to make a quick trip to my in-laws last evening to try to settle some paperwork issues. On the way, we say the beautiful sunset but we were trying to hurry.  We pulled off at the foot of a wide valley and I was able to get out and use my longest lens to get this shot. The farm was maybe 1 - 1.5 miles away and the sun just lit up the farm and surroundings - what a great opportunity.

Wednesday Minimalism

I took this photo earlier this summer when our church had Vacation Bible School. I was there early wtth my wife and noticed a coming storm. One of the windows in the church is clear and was facing away from the coming storm and before it hit, I managed to get a shot of the sky with the surrounding homes against that sky making for nice silhouettes.

Red Tinged Clouds over the Trees Photo of the Day 345/366 I took the photo last week on the way home. It was a wonderful sunset sky and I couldn't pass up taking a number of shots while it was available. These clouds with the red edges from the setting sun were a wonderful sight over these trees just behind the rolling field in the foreground. A nice evening sky for sure.

    Photo of the Day 307/365  Autumn Colors on Display by the Creek This photo was taken last weekend on our mini-vacation. We were on our way home and happened to find a pull-off - in the rain - and I took some photos by this creek. The colors just seemed to pop in the damp drizzly weather but the camera couldn't quite capture the bright colors. I didn't want to over-edit it but this is close to what I experienced that moment.

Tracks into the Sunset Photo of the Day 342/366 This photo was taken last evening on the way home from work. I took a number of photos and could not quite get the sun peeking through  the clouds. This is the closest I got. I love the colors in the sky and the reflections in the railroad tracks. I've taken this scene before, but it always makes me think of life moving on and on, rolling into the sunset of life - as I get older, those thoughts become more frequent.
