Stalk of Grass Against a Sunset Sky

This photo was taken a few weeks ago on a cold morning on the way to work. Sunrises always have my attention, but at times, there needs to be more.  Most of the trees were devoid of leaves and I was trying to find something to photograph other than the sky.  The sky, while pretty, seemed to be just 'the same" so I found this lone stalk of grass and worked to get it into focus against the sky. I think it came out great.

This photo was taken this past summer at a wedding. The ceremony was over and the reception was in full swing. I saw the sunset through the window and decided to take a little jaunt to see what was around. I spied a number of great sunset shots and this one.  This one seemed to represent "farm country" very well. The silo, the field of corn in the foreground,the sunset sky - all come together nicely for a wonderful end of the day.

Red Tinged Clouds over the Trees Photo of the Day 345/366 I took the photo last week on the way home. It was a wonderful sunset sky and I couldn't pass up taking a number of shots while it was available. These clouds with the red edges from the setting sun were a wonderful sight over these trees just behind the rolling field in the foreground. A nice evening sky for sure.

    Photo of the Day 307/365  Autumn Colors on Display by the Creek This photo was taken last weekend on our mini-vacation. We were on our way home and happened to find a pull-off - in the rain - and I took some photos by this creek. The colors just seemed to pop in the damp drizzly weather but the camera couldn't quite capture the bright colors. I didn't want to over-edit it but this is close to what I experienced that moment.

Tracks into the Sunset Photo of the Day 342/366 This photo was taken last evening on the way home from work. I took a number of photos and could not quite get the sun peeking through  the clouds. This is the closest I got. I love the colors in the sky and the reflections in the railroad tracks. I've taken this scene before, but it always makes me think of life moving on and on, rolling into the sunset of life - as I get older, those thoughts become more frequent.
