Vivid Golds and Blues at Sunset

This shot was taken a few weeks ago. I took a series of shots of this sunset and, for the most part, the skys were just too - blah. This one, when zoomed in and at the moment the sun came out from the clouds, the sky just lit up and the colors seemed to go crazy good. I only got one shot like this before the sun was hidden again.

This photo was taken when we toured a very old church in our area. When I took this, I had never been in this church before and took it all in. It was, to me, a classic Colonial American church. Mostly white everywhere, Wooden pews, raised pulpit, and the floors were rough hewn wood. These stairs led to the upper seating and I thought the pattern of the stairs was worth capturing.

Red Tinged Clouds over the Trees Photo of the Day 345/366 I took the photo last week on the way home. It was a wonderful sunset sky and I couldn't pass up taking a number of shots while it was available. These clouds with the red edges from the setting sun were a wonderful sight over these trees just behind the rolling field in the foreground. A nice evening sky for sure.

    Photo of the Day 307/365  Autumn Colors on Display by the Creek This photo was taken last weekend on our mini-vacation. We were on our way home and happened to find a pull-off - in the rain - and I took some photos by this creek. The colors just seemed to pop in the damp drizzly weather but the camera couldn't quite capture the bright colors. I didn't want to over-edit it but this is close to what I experienced that moment.

Tracks into the Sunset Photo of the Day 342/366 This photo was taken last evening on the way home from work. I took a number of photos and could not quite get the sun peeking through  the clouds. This is the closest I got. I love the colors in the sky and the reflections in the railroad tracks. I've taken this scene before, but it always makes me think of life moving on and on, rolling into the sunset of life - as I get older, those thoughts become more frequent.
