Afternoon Sun over the Fields

My youngest and I were on an afternoon jaunt of shopping and walking. On our way home, it was getting to end of the day and I suggested a few stops on the way home so I could try to get a photo or two. I decided that this site would be a good one.  We pulled into the local township building and this scene was across the street.  Due to timing (and a little impatience), we couldn't wait for the sunset but I feel that this image did not disappoint.

I took this photo last spring while out on a nature walk at our local lake. I had taken that day off for a "mental health" day and just needed to get away from work. The mist was thick but the weather person had promised that it would burn off.  I stated early and these photos were at the very beginning of my time out. I love purple and these really caught my eye amongst the green of spring and the gray mist. Spring is coming and again, I can't wait.

Red Tinged Clouds over the Trees Photo of the Day 345/366 I took the photo last week on the way home. It was a wonderful sunset sky and I couldn't pass up taking a number of shots while it was available. These clouds with the red edges from the setting sun were a wonderful sight over these trees just behind the rolling field in the foreground. A nice evening sky for sure.

    Photo of the Day 307/365  Autumn Colors on Display by the Creek This photo was taken last weekend on our mini-vacation. We were on our way home and happened to find a pull-off - in the rain - and I took some photos by this creek. The colors just seemed to pop in the damp drizzly weather but the camera couldn't quite capture the bright colors. I didn't want to over-edit it but this is close to what I experienced that moment.

Tracks into the Sunset Photo of the Day 342/366 This photo was taken last evening on the way home from work. I took a number of photos and could not quite get the sun peeking through  the clouds. This is the closest I got. I love the colors in the sky and the reflections in the railroad tracks. I've taken this scene before, but it always makes me think of life moving on and on, rolling into the sunset of life - as I get older, those thoughts become more frequent.
