Sunset Sky through the
Edge of the Woods

Photo of the Day 115/366

This photo was taken earlier this year but I never had a chance to post it. I was our walking and missed the actual sun setting - well I saw it set, but only through the thickness of deep woods. When I got to the edge of the woods, I saw the amazing colors of the sky and tried to hurry to catch what I could. This was the result. I am not happy with the power lines in the background but it can't be perfect. I still think it's pretty.

Lilacs have always been my favorite flower, their color doesn't matter. Their look, their scent, the way they grow - they are just my favorite. This photo is of a lilac bush that I planted at our old home. I took it while visiting my oldest (who lives there) and the bush is now perhaps 15 feet tall. I love this time of year.

Red Tinged Clouds over the Trees Photo of the Day 345/366 I took the photo last week on the way home. It was a wonderful sunset sky and I couldn't pass up taking a number of shots while it was available. These clouds with the red edges from the setting sun were a wonderful sight over these trees just behind the rolling field in the foreground. A nice evening sky for sure.

    Photo of the Day 307/365  Autumn Colors on Display by the Creek This photo was taken last weekend on our mini-vacation. We were on our way home and happened to find a pull-off - in the rain - and I took some photos by this creek. The colors just seemed to pop in the damp drizzly weather but the camera couldn't quite capture the bright colors. I didn't want to over-edit it but this is close to what I experienced that moment.

Tracks into the Sunset Photo of the Day 342/366 This photo was taken last evening on the way home from work. I took a number of photos and could not quite get the sun peeking through  the clouds. This is the closest I got. I love the colors in the sky and the reflections in the railroad tracks. I've taken this scene before, but it always makes me think of life moving on and on, rolling into the sunset of life - as I get older, those thoughts become more frequent.
