Reflections and Memories of Cape May

Photo of the Day 117/366

When we vacationed in Cape May, New Jersey, my favorite activity was to either walk the shopping area, known as "the mall" or to walk the nature trails at Cape May Point. I was never a "beach person" but more of a "coast person". This view was from somewhere on the nature trailes when I happened to catch a reflection of the Cape May lighthouse in a tidal pool. The photo brings back some of the good times we had there.

This photo was taken some time ago when I saw a bowl full of beads and strings of beads at Christmas time. In the pile was a false snowball and glass beads of varying sizes. I thought the composition was good so I moved the container (and me) around until the light was right and then took this photo.

Red Tinged Clouds over the Trees Photo of the Day 345/366 I took the photo last week on the way home. It was a wonderful sunset sky and I couldn't pass up taking a number of shots while it was available. These clouds with the red edges from the setting sun were a wonderful sight over these trees just behind the rolling field in the foreground. A nice evening sky for sure.

    Photo of the Day 307/365  Autumn Colors on Display by the Creek This photo was taken last weekend on our mini-vacation. We were on our way home and happened to find a pull-off - in the rain - and I took some photos by this creek. The colors just seemed to pop in the damp drizzly weather but the camera couldn't quite capture the bright colors. I didn't want to over-edit it but this is close to what I experienced that moment.

Tracks into the Sunset Photo of the Day 342/366 This photo was taken last evening on the way home from work. I took a number of photos and could not quite get the sun peeking through  the clouds. This is the closest I got. I love the colors in the sky and the reflections in the railroad tracks. I've taken this scene before, but it always makes me think of life moving on and on, rolling into the sunset of life - as I get older, those thoughts become more frequent.
