Sunset along the Road

Photo of the Day 144/366

I took this photo two days ago while my wife was driving home from a seminar. I saw the sun setting and we were coming down a country lane and I asked her if anyone was behind us. She said "no" and then "where do you want me to stop?"  I indicated  a clearing and we stopped.  I had time for 3 shots and this the best.

This photo was taken a number of years ago when I worked for the state government. I would usually walk at lunch, regardless of the season. This stairways lead up to the plaza and fountain behind the building. On this day, the blue sky took over, made this scene very startk, and colored everything blue.

Red Tinged Clouds over the Trees Photo of the Day 345/366 I took the photo last week on the way home. It was a wonderful sunset sky and I couldn't pass up taking a number of shots while it was available. These clouds with the red edges from the setting sun were a wonderful sight over these trees just behind the rolling field in the foreground. A nice evening sky for sure.

    Photo of the Day 307/365  Autumn Colors on Display by the Creek This photo was taken last weekend on our mini-vacation. We were on our way home and happened to find a pull-off - in the rain - and I took some photos by this creek. The colors just seemed to pop in the damp drizzly weather but the camera couldn't quite capture the bright colors. I didn't want to over-edit it but this is close to what I experienced that moment.

Tracks into the Sunset Photo of the Day 342/366 This photo was taken last evening on the way home from work. I took a number of photos and could not quite get the sun peeking through  the clouds. This is the closest I got. I love the colors in the sky and the reflections in the railroad tracks. I've taken this scene before, but it always makes me think of life moving on and on, rolling into the sunset of life - as I get older, those thoughts become more frequent.
