Final Shaft of Sunset Light

I took this shot two nights ago on a whim.  My youngest reminded me that the "oranges" were upon us and that I should get out there. So, after 3 walks for the day, I worked my way across the street, and seeing my neighbor wasn't home - I went into his back yard to catch this wonderful end-of-day shot of the sunset.

This photo is taken from my archives. I worked downtown in our Capitol and would wonder the streets and alleys on the way in to the office and at lunchtime. This shot was taken on the way in to work from my parking garage to to the office. I really liked (and still like) the gritty black and white and the reflections of the rain from earlier in the morning.

Red Tinged Clouds over the Trees Photo of the Day 345/366 I took the photo last week on the way home. It was a wonderful sunset sky and I couldn't pass up taking a number of shots while it was available. These clouds with the red edges from the setting sun were a wonderful sight over these trees just behind the rolling field in the foreground. A nice evening sky for sure.

    Photo of the Day 307/365  Autumn Colors on Display by the Creek This photo was taken last weekend on our mini-vacation. We were on our way home and happened to find a pull-off - in the rain - and I took some photos by this creek. The colors just seemed to pop in the damp drizzly weather but the camera couldn't quite capture the bright colors. I didn't want to over-edit it but this is close to what I experienced that moment.

Tracks into the Sunset Photo of the Day 342/366 This photo was taken last evening on the way home from work. I took a number of photos and could not quite get the sun peeking through  the clouds. This is the closest I got. I love the colors in the sky and the reflections in the railroad tracks. I've taken this scene before, but it always makes me think of life moving on and on, rolling into the sunset of life - as I get older, those thoughts become more frequent.
