Hay Bales at Sunset

Photo of the Day 154/366

I shot this photo last evening while out on a "get-out-of-the-house" walk. I just felt cooped up and in the early evening, I decide to get my camera (and my phone) and take a long walk (for me, about 2 miles) and off I went. The walk started before sunset and ended after sunset. The farmers took advantage of the great weather and were "haying". Two nights ago, the fields were mown and last night, the bales started to appear. This is some of their handiwork at the end of the day.

This images was taken on my only trip to New Orleans. That city has much more exuberant street life than other cities. I believe that is due to warm weather and there are more plazas and opportunities for street life than northern cities. In any case, I enjoyed the music and had to get a photo.

Red Tinged Clouds over the Trees Photo of the Day 345/366 I took the photo last week on the way home. It was a wonderful sunset sky and I couldn't pass up taking a number of shots while it was available. These clouds with the red edges from the setting sun were a wonderful sight over these trees just behind the rolling field in the foreground. A nice evening sky for sure.

    Photo of the Day 307/365  Autumn Colors on Display by the Creek This photo was taken last weekend on our mini-vacation. We were on our way home and happened to find a pull-off - in the rain - and I took some photos by this creek. The colors just seemed to pop in the damp drizzly weather but the camera couldn't quite capture the bright colors. I didn't want to over-edit it but this is close to what I experienced that moment.

Tracks into the Sunset Photo of the Day 342/366 This photo was taken last evening on the way home from work. I took a number of photos and could not quite get the sun peeking through  the clouds. This is the closest I got. I love the colors in the sky and the reflections in the railroad tracks. I've taken this scene before, but it always makes me think of life moving on and on, rolling into the sunset of life - as I get older, those thoughts become more frequent.
