Sunset over the Neighborhood

Photo of the Day 167/366

I took this photo last evening. I had been puttering about the house when my wife said "oooh - you need to see the sky." It had been a cloudy afternoon, so I hadn't been looking.  I'm glad she did - the sun broke through a band of clouds and lit up that part of the sky. I've been very blessed to have a great wife and capture these photos.

Saturday Choice

This photo was taken a couple of weekends ago. I was out for an afternoon walk (I did a sunset walk later) and found theses sunny views. They reminded me of my youth and the carefree times when I could just sit under a tree and let me mind and body soak in all that nature had to give - no cares, no worries. Those days are gone except for the memories.

Red Tinged Clouds over the Trees Photo of the Day 345/366 I took the photo last week on the way home. It was a wonderful sunset sky and I couldn't pass up taking a number of shots while it was available. These clouds with the red edges from the setting sun were a wonderful sight over these trees just behind the rolling field in the foreground. A nice evening sky for sure.

    Photo of the Day 307/365  Autumn Colors on Display by the Creek This photo was taken last weekend on our mini-vacation. We were on our way home and happened to find a pull-off - in the rain - and I took some photos by this creek. The colors just seemed to pop in the damp drizzly weather but the camera couldn't quite capture the bright colors. I didn't want to over-edit it but this is close to what I experienced that moment.

Tracks into the Sunset Photo of the Day 342/366 This photo was taken last evening on the way home from work. I took a number of photos and could not quite get the sun peeking through  the clouds. This is the closest I got. I love the colors in the sky and the reflections in the railroad tracks. I've taken this scene before, but it always makes me think of life moving on and on, rolling into the sunset of life - as I get older, those thoughts become more frequent.
