Pre-Dawn Sky over the Misty Valley

Photo of the Day 174/366

This photo was taken while out on a very early jaunt through the countryside. I saw the newly mown grass in the foreground and the wonderful sky in the background and could not avoid stopping to take a few pictures. This was one of those cases where I had to edit the photo to get it to be what I saw when I took it. The camera did not give the correct (for my eye) lighting and colors.  However, I did what I know to do and made the photo what I saw that morning!  Enjoy!

Saturday Choice

This show was taken on a recent road trip. We had to drive to get some signatures on a document for my wife's office and she offered to take me along. The trip was across the farmland of our area so I went along. I got a few shots that were good and this was one of them. I just saw this old stone farmhouse across the field from our car and thought it looked very pretty on a warm afternoon.

Red Tinged Clouds over the Trees Photo of the Day 345/366 I took the photo last week on the way home. It was a wonderful sunset sky and I couldn't pass up taking a number of shots while it was available. These clouds with the red edges from the setting sun were a wonderful sight over these trees just behind the rolling field in the foreground. A nice evening sky for sure.

    Photo of the Day 307/365  Autumn Colors on Display by the Creek This photo was taken last weekend on our mini-vacation. We were on our way home and happened to find a pull-off - in the rain - and I took some photos by this creek. The colors just seemed to pop in the damp drizzly weather but the camera couldn't quite capture the bright colors. I didn't want to over-edit it but this is close to what I experienced that moment.

Tracks into the Sunset Photo of the Day 342/366 This photo was taken last evening on the way home from work. I took a number of photos and could not quite get the sun peeking through  the clouds. This is the closest I got. I love the colors in the sky and the reflections in the railroad tracks. I've taken this scene before, but it always makes me think of life moving on and on, rolling into the sunset of life - as I get older, those thoughts become more frequent.
