Saturday Streaky Sunset

We were out for a long day with friends yesterday and the weather could not have been better. We got home in the late afternoon and my wife decided she needed a nap. I did my normal and backed up my day's photos and after a bit, realized that I almost missed sunset - well - almost. This is the result of hustling out to catch the last moments.

On our outing with friends, we visited Lancaster's Central Market. This stand caught my eye with the lights and decor in amongst food stands and other offerings. This lady was buying and something about the scene caught my eye despite the throngs of people. I managed a single shot before someone walked in front of me and it was gone.

Red Tinged Clouds over the Trees Photo of the Day 345/366 I took the photo last week on the way home. It was a wonderful sunset sky and I couldn't pass up taking a number of shots while it was available. These clouds with the red edges from the setting sun were a wonderful sight over these trees just behind the rolling field in the foreground. A nice evening sky for sure.

    Photo of the Day 307/365  Autumn Colors on Display by the Creek This photo was taken last weekend on our mini-vacation. We were on our way home and happened to find a pull-off - in the rain - and I took some photos by this creek. The colors just seemed to pop in the damp drizzly weather but the camera couldn't quite capture the bright colors. I didn't want to over-edit it but this is close to what I experienced that moment.

Tracks into the Sunset Photo of the Day 342/366 This photo was taken last evening on the way home from work. I took a number of photos and could not quite get the sun peeking through  the clouds. This is the closest I got. I love the colors in the sky and the reflections in the railroad tracks. I've taken this scene before, but it always makes me think of life moving on and on, rolling into the sunset of life - as I get older, those thoughts become more frequent.
