Sunset Between the Trees

Photo of the Day 240/366

I took this photo this past weekend on the first of two jaunts to see the sunset sky. I posted a photo from the second jaunt yesterday. This one one was taken before the sun actually set, and I tried to position myself to be able to see the sun set between the two trees on the horizon. I waited for this one for a bit as the sun was too bright when I arrived so I had to wait until it sank low enough to get this shot. The colors in the sky sure didn't hurt either.

Tuesday Daily Life:  This photo was from my archives and was taken at over 5 years ago. It was taken at our local polling / voting location. It was taken on election night and the queue was quite long and we all waited in the autumn evening to put in out vote. I remember seeing a few people I knew but for the most part, the line was quiet and we just kept shuffling forward to do our civic duty.

Red Tinged Clouds over the Trees Photo of the Day 345/366 I took the photo last week on the way home. It was a wonderful sunset sky and I couldn't pass up taking a number of shots while it was available. These clouds with the red edges from the setting sun were a wonderful sight over these trees just behind the rolling field in the foreground. A nice evening sky for sure.

    Photo of the Day 307/365  Autumn Colors on Display by the Creek This photo was taken last weekend on our mini-vacation. We were on our way home and happened to find a pull-off - in the rain - and I took some photos by this creek. The colors just seemed to pop in the damp drizzly weather but the camera couldn't quite capture the bright colors. I didn't want to over-edit it but this is close to what I experienced that moment.

Tracks into the Sunset Photo of the Day 342/366 This photo was taken last evening on the way home from work. I took a number of photos and could not quite get the sun peeking through  the clouds. This is the closest I got. I love the colors in the sky and the reflections in the railroad tracks. I've taken this scene before, but it always makes me think of life moving on and on, rolling into the sunset of life - as I get older, those thoughts become more frequent.
