I captured this image a few weeks ago. I arrived at one of my sunset spots a little early and decided to explore a little. I came to the edge of a field and looked across at the clouds and noticed how the sunlight was just skating across the grasses in the field. I thought then, as I do now, that this was a very bucolic and timeless scene.  It could be almost anywhere, but it isn't - it's almost in my backyard.

Friday Creative:  I took this photo a few years ago and never found a venue for it. I was playing with long exposure and a zoom lens (on manual settings). I got varied results, but I seem to remember that having the camera on a tripod gave me straight light trails and I didn't care for the results.  So I went hand held and I got two images that I have carried since then and this is one of them.

    Photo of the Day 307/365  Autumn Colors on Display by the Creek This photo was taken last weekend on our mini-vacation. We were on our way home and happened to find a pull-off - in the rain - and I took some photos by this creek. The colors just seemed to pop in the damp drizzly weather but the camera couldn't quite capture the bright colors. I didn't want to over-edit it but this is close to what I experienced that moment.

Red Tinged Clouds over the Trees Photo of the Day 345/366 I took the photo last week on the way home. It was a wonderful sunset sky and I couldn't pass up taking a number of shots while it was available. These clouds with the red edges from the setting sun were a wonderful sight over these trees just behind the rolling field in the foreground. A nice evening sky for sure.

Tracks into the Sunset Photo of the Day 342/366 This photo was taken last evening on the way home from work. I took a number of photos and could not quite get the sun peeking through  the clouds. This is the closest I got. I love the colors in the sky and the reflections in the railroad tracks. I've taken this scene before, but it always makes me think of life moving on and on, rolling into the sunset of life - as I get older, those thoughts become more frequent.
