Soft Colors Before the Sunrise

I took this photo on the way to work yesterday morning. I knew I was running a little early but when I saw the soft colors and the light mist on the field, I had to pull over and grab a few photos. I really liked the layers of color - from the green of the field to the blues of the hills, then the pinks, oranges, and golds of the clouds and finally back to the blue above the sky - this seemed to be a layer cake of colors. A beautiful morning.

Friday Creative:  When we were first married (30+ years ago) - and I had some of my first digital cameras, my eyes seemed more open than today - I shot almost everything. I remember just setting my camera down on a table and seeing in the display this scene and I HAD to grab the photos. I just seemed so abstract and truly, happenstance that I looked at the display at that moment. I'm glad I took this and glad I kept it all these year.

    Photo of the Day 307/365  Autumn Colors on Display by the Creek This photo was taken last weekend on our mini-vacation. We were on our way home and happened to find a pull-off - in the rain - and I took some photos by this creek. The colors just seemed to pop in the damp drizzly weather but the camera couldn't quite capture the bright colors. I didn't want to over-edit it but this is close to what I experienced that moment.

Red Tinged Clouds over the Trees Photo of the Day 345/366 I took the photo last week on the way home. It was a wonderful sunset sky and I couldn't pass up taking a number of shots while it was available. These clouds with the red edges from the setting sun were a wonderful sight over these trees just behind the rolling field in the foreground. A nice evening sky for sure.

Tracks into the Sunset Photo of the Day 342/366 This photo was taken last evening on the way home from work. I took a number of photos and could not quite get the sun peeking through  the clouds. This is the closest I got. I love the colors in the sky and the reflections in the railroad tracks. I've taken this scene before, but it always makes me think of life moving on and on, rolling into the sunset of life - as I get older, those thoughts become more frequent.
