Clouds Receding After the Sunset

Photo of the Day 259/366

 

 

I went out last evening and really thought I had missed a beautiful sky. I hurried but I did miss the sun setting, which would have been great, but the soft colors in the sky after the sunset had its own reward. The dark, spotty clouds, which seemed to be escaping to the west, added to the wonder of the scene. I'm glad I hurried and I'm glad I got this shot.

Sitting in Front of the Coffee Shop


Images Exposed Daily Photo Challenge

Sunday Street Photography:  I took this photo last weekend while my wife went in to a local coffee shop to get our online order. This woman was sitting in front of the shop.  I thought it odd that there were plenty of empty chairs and places to sit, but she chose to sit on the other side of the pillar from the door. I only had a brief moment to grab this and she saw I was taking the shot and looked my way.

    Photo of the Day 307/365  Autumn Colors on Display by the Creek This photo was taken last weekend on our mini-vacation. We were on our way home and happened to find a pull-off - in the rain - and I took some photos by this creek. The colors just seemed to pop in the damp drizzly weather but the camera couldn't quite capture the bright colors. I didn't want to over-edit it but this is close to what I experienced that moment.

Red Tinged Clouds over the Trees Photo of the Day 345/366 I took the photo last week on the way home. It was a wonderful sunset sky and I couldn't pass up taking a number of shots while it was available. These clouds with the red edges from the setting sun were a wonderful sight over these trees just behind the rolling field in the foreground. A nice evening sky for sure.

Tracks into the Sunset Photo of the Day 342/366 This photo was taken last evening on the way home from work. I took a number of photos and could not quite get the sun peeking through  the clouds. This is the closest I got. I love the colors in the sky and the reflections in the railroad tracks. I've taken this scene before, but it always makes me think of life moving on and on, rolling into the sunset of life - as I get older, those thoughts become more frequent.
