Winter Slope at Sunset

This photo was shot about 2 weeks ago - we were getting past a moderate snow and one could still see the stubble of plants through the snow. This sloped field is one that, I think, kids would love to use as a sledding hill but for property reasons, do not. The view, however, is outstanding, especially at sunset. The sky was on fire the night I took this one.

Morning after an Ice Storm

Sunday Monochrome:  This photo was originally taken a few years ago after an ice storm. Despite the original blue sky, the photo was so monochromatic, that I decided to edit it that way and this was the result. I really like it in monochrome.  It was very pretty but someone dangerous to be out and about that morning - the icy roads were just melting - but worth it.

Red Tinged Clouds over the Trees Photo of the Day 345/366 I took the photo last week on the way home. It was a wonderful sunset sky and I couldn't pass up taking a number of shots while it was available. These clouds with the red edges from the setting sun were a wonderful sight over these trees just behind the rolling field in the foreground. A nice evening sky for sure.

    Photo of the Day 307/365  Autumn Colors on Display by the Creek This photo was taken last weekend on our mini-vacation. We were on our way home and happened to find a pull-off - in the rain - and I took some photos by this creek. The colors just seemed to pop in the damp drizzly weather but the camera couldn't quite capture the bright colors. I didn't want to over-edit it but this is close to what I experienced that moment.

Tracks into the Sunset Photo of the Day 342/366 This photo was taken last evening on the way home from work. I took a number of photos and could not quite get the sun peeking through  the clouds. This is the closest I got. I love the colors in the sky and the reflections in the railroad tracks. I've taken this scene before, but it always makes me think of life moving on and on, rolling into the sunset of life - as I get older, those thoughts become more frequent.
