Pretty Sky Just After Sunset

We went on a trip last evening to do a "paint night" with my son and his wife, as a fundraiser. On the way to their house, I noticed the setting sun and I tried to take a number of photos from the car. Well, that didn't work out so well, except for this one. I like the clouds, the sky, and the final sunlight on the house on the far left. It all came together for this shot.

Thursday Analogous Colors: This photo was taken some years ago on an early spring morning in the fog. This theme - analogous colors - has me searching my archives to find photos that meet the criteria and I think this one does. It's tough to find ANY colors in the dead of winter (maybe white, gray, black?) - so I do my best to search my archives for ones that might fit - hope this one does....

Red Tinged Clouds over the Trees Photo of the Day 345/366 I took the photo last week on the way home. It was a wonderful sunset sky and I couldn't pass up taking a number of shots while it was available. These clouds with the red edges from the setting sun were a wonderful sight over these trees just behind the rolling field in the foreground. A nice evening sky for sure.

    Photo of the Day 307/365  Autumn Colors on Display by the Creek This photo was taken last weekend on our mini-vacation. We were on our way home and happened to find a pull-off - in the rain - and I took some photos by this creek. The colors just seemed to pop in the damp drizzly weather but the camera couldn't quite capture the bright colors. I didn't want to over-edit it but this is close to what I experienced that moment.

Tracks into the Sunset Photo of the Day 342/366 This photo was taken last evening on the way home from work. I took a number of photos and could not quite get the sun peeking through  the clouds. This is the closest I got. I love the colors in the sky and the reflections in the railroad tracks. I've taken this scene before, but it always makes me think of life moving on and on, rolling into the sunset of life - as I get older, those thoughts become more frequent.
