Afternoon Sky at my Son's Place

I took this photo earlier this week at my son's home. We had arrived to get together for a fundraiser for my daughter-in-law's school. The sky had been outstanding on the drive to their home. When I got out of the car, I noticed the pretty colors in the clouds over the backyards and had to try to capture the scene. This is how it looked there - beautiful.

Friday People: This photo was taken some years ago at a nearby state park. As I hiked near one of the recreation areas, I saw this lady engrossed in painting the lake's scenery. I quietly hiked by and took a few photos from behind her. I don't see very many people painting plein'air so I thought I would honor that with a photo.

Red Tinged Clouds over the Trees Photo of the Day 345/366 I took the photo last week on the way home. It was a wonderful sunset sky and I couldn't pass up taking a number of shots while it was available. These clouds with the red edges from the setting sun were a wonderful sight over these trees just behind the rolling field in the foreground. A nice evening sky for sure.

    Photo of the Day 307/365  Autumn Colors on Display by the Creek This photo was taken last weekend on our mini-vacation. We were on our way home and happened to find a pull-off - in the rain - and I took some photos by this creek. The colors just seemed to pop in the damp drizzly weather but the camera couldn't quite capture the bright colors. I didn't want to over-edit it but this is close to what I experienced that moment.

Tracks into the Sunset Photo of the Day 342/366 This photo was taken last evening on the way home from work. I took a number of photos and could not quite get the sun peeking through  the clouds. This is the closest I got. I love the colors in the sky and the reflections in the railroad tracks. I've taken this scene before, but it always makes me think of life moving on and on, rolling into the sunset of life - as I get older, those thoughts become more frequent.
