Beautiful Winter Sunset

I get what I can capture with my busy life. I wish I had the luxury of planning and preparing for a sunset photo "shoot" where I could hike to nowhere, take my tripod and have almost limitless time to take photos. I only had the once, while one a photo-tour in Maine - and I LOVED it.  However, that's not my real life - and I have things that need done and other priorities. So, I pull off the road on a moment's notice, and try to shoot what I can from parking lots or roadsides as I drive.  This is one of those.

Sunday Monochrome: This photo was taken some years ago in the building of my last employer. There was an atrium that had mirrorred surfaces on the ceiling. Most people (as they will) ignored the interesting architectural detail - but I had to capture some of the gemoetric shapes and I thought that black and white created less distractions of the colors.

Red Tinged Clouds over the Trees Photo of the Day 345/366 I took the photo last week on the way home. It was a wonderful sunset sky and I couldn't pass up taking a number of shots while it was available. These clouds with the red edges from the setting sun were a wonderful sight over these trees just behind the rolling field in the foreground. A nice evening sky for sure.

    Photo of the Day 307/365  Autumn Colors on Display by the Creek This photo was taken last weekend on our mini-vacation. We were on our way home and happened to find a pull-off - in the rain - and I took some photos by this creek. The colors just seemed to pop in the damp drizzly weather but the camera couldn't quite capture the bright colors. I didn't want to over-edit it but this is close to what I experienced that moment.

Tracks into the Sunset Photo of the Day 342/366 This photo was taken last evening on the way home from work. I took a number of photos and could not quite get the sun peeking through  the clouds. This is the closest I got. I love the colors in the sky and the reflections in the railroad tracks. I've taken this scene before, but it always makes me think of life moving on and on, rolling into the sunset of life - as I get older, those thoughts become more frequent.
