Cold Afternoon at the Lake
Photo of the Day 34/365

This photo was taken a few years ago while out on a winter hike at a nearby State Park. The air seemed OK when I got there but when I got down to the lakeside trail it was windy and bitterly cold. As the sun was sinking, the clouds were coming by and warmth disappeared. The ice didn't help, but it did make for a nice afternoon winter shot.

Monday Fill-the-Frame: This photo was taken some time ago when my wife and I were at a diner. We were waiting for our breakfast and chatting when I noticed the light hitting my coffee mug and decided to try a macro shot. I seem to remember that I could not frame a shot of the coffee in the cup unless I pulled back too far, so I went with a partial shot of the mug - note - it needs more coffee inside.

Red Tinged Clouds over the Trees Photo of the Day 345/366 I took the photo last week on the way home. It was a wonderful sunset sky and I couldn't pass up taking a number of shots while it was available. These clouds with the red edges from the setting sun were a wonderful sight over these trees just behind the rolling field in the foreground. A nice evening sky for sure.

    Photo of the Day 307/365  Autumn Colors on Display by the Creek This photo was taken last weekend on our mini-vacation. We were on our way home and happened to find a pull-off - in the rain - and I took some photos by this creek. The colors just seemed to pop in the damp drizzly weather but the camera couldn't quite capture the bright colors. I didn't want to over-edit it but this is close to what I experienced that moment.

Tracks into the Sunset Photo of the Day 342/366 This photo was taken last evening on the way home from work. I took a number of photos and could not quite get the sun peeking through  the clouds. This is the closest I got. I love the colors in the sky and the reflections in the railroad tracks. I've taken this scene before, but it always makes me think of life moving on and on, rolling into the sunset of life - as I get older, those thoughts become more frequent.
