Winter Sunset in Cape May

I reached WAY back in my archives for this one. It was taken 14 years ago on one of our trips to Cape May. We used to go every year, sometimes twice per year, until a few unfortnate events left memories that I don't wish to renew. Some of them are easily forgotten, but some hang on. Someday, we'll go back, but Maine and Cape Cod have taken the place, in my heart of Cape May. But...I still enjoy looking back at the photos I took.

Sunday Monochrome: This photo was taken near to our previous residence. I had many back roads I could take to get to work, some were just there if I could spare some extra time on the way. This was one of those, the road ended in a cul-d-sac and I stopped at the edge of the woods just as the sun had risen. The sky was pale, so I decided to try black and white and this was the result. I feel the mist makes the photo.

Red Tinged Clouds over the Trees Photo of the Day 345/366 I took the photo last week on the way home. It was a wonderful sunset sky and I couldn't pass up taking a number of shots while it was available. These clouds with the red edges from the setting sun were a wonderful sight over these trees just behind the rolling field in the foreground. A nice evening sky for sure.

    Photo of the Day 307/365  Autumn Colors on Display by the Creek This photo was taken last weekend on our mini-vacation. We were on our way home and happened to find a pull-off - in the rain - and I took some photos by this creek. The colors just seemed to pop in the damp drizzly weather but the camera couldn't quite capture the bright colors. I didn't want to over-edit it but this is close to what I experienced that moment.

Tracks into the Sunset Photo of the Day 342/366 This photo was taken last evening on the way home from work. I took a number of photos and could not quite get the sun peeking through  the clouds. This is the closest I got. I love the colors in the sky and the reflections in the railroad tracks. I've taken this scene before, but it always makes me think of life moving on and on, rolling into the sunset of life - as I get older, those thoughts become more frequent.
