Sweeping Sunset Sky

Photo of the Day 65/365

This photo was taken over the past weekend. The wide sky, the windswepts clouds, and late afternoon sun provided for a nice landscape shot. It looks cold (it was), it looks barren (no spring growth yet) and the water from recent rains can still be seen in the field. But despite the cold - the "nature" of the scene gives hope to the new growth and warmth of spring.

Thursday Colors: We were out last fall on a daytrip and at the end of the day, we decided to stop at a restaurant in the area we were in. It was rainy and we wanted some warmth. The restaurant had colored glass windows and some almost looked to be in the "craftsman" style. I did the best I could to line up a windows, but I'm afraid I got more color than straight lines - but it brings back good memories.

Red Tinged Clouds over the Trees Photo of the Day 345/366 I took the photo last week on the way home. It was a wonderful sunset sky and I couldn't pass up taking a number of shots while it was available. These clouds with the red edges from the setting sun were a wonderful sight over these trees just behind the rolling field in the foreground. A nice evening sky for sure.

    Photo of the Day 307/365  Autumn Colors on Display by the Creek This photo was taken last weekend on our mini-vacation. We were on our way home and happened to find a pull-off - in the rain - and I took some photos by this creek. The colors just seemed to pop in the damp drizzly weather but the camera couldn't quite capture the bright colors. I didn't want to over-edit it but this is close to what I experienced that moment.

Tracks into the Sunset Photo of the Day 342/366 This photo was taken last evening on the way home from work. I took a number of photos and could not quite get the sun peeking through  the clouds. This is the closest I got. I love the colors in the sky and the reflections in the railroad tracks. I've taken this scene before, but it always makes me think of life moving on and on, rolling into the sunset of life - as I get older, those thoughts become more frequent.
