Lonely Sunset Cloud

Photo of the Day 68/365

I took this photo this weekend and, as usual, it took a bit of editing to get the image to show what I saw. The variance of light is just too much for the camera - so editing brought it to life and made it worth posting. I really do like the soft edge of color in the cloud, the blue hills, and the field in the foreground. It feels peaceful, to me.

Sunday Monochrome:  This photo was pulled from my archives and has not been posted before, to my recollection. It was taken, I believe at Fort Knox, in Maine. I had reduced the exposure to ge the "mood" of the place but went oo far. I editied it to bring up a little bit of the light and realized that it's almost an optical illusion.  Truth is, you're looking down the steps....

Red Tinged Clouds over the Trees Photo of the Day 345/366 I took the photo last week on the way home. It was a wonderful sunset sky and I couldn't pass up taking a number of shots while it was available. These clouds with the red edges from the setting sun were a wonderful sight over these trees just behind the rolling field in the foreground. A nice evening sky for sure.

    Photo of the Day 307/365  Autumn Colors on Display by the Creek This photo was taken last weekend on our mini-vacation. We were on our way home and happened to find a pull-off - in the rain - and I took some photos by this creek. The colors just seemed to pop in the damp drizzly weather but the camera couldn't quite capture the bright colors. I didn't want to over-edit it but this is close to what I experienced that moment.

Tracks into the Sunset Photo of the Day 342/366 This photo was taken last evening on the way home from work. I took a number of photos and could not quite get the sun peeking through  the clouds. This is the closest I got. I love the colors in the sky and the reflections in the railroad tracks. I've taken this scene before, but it always makes me think of life moving on and on, rolling into the sunset of life - as I get older, those thoughts become more frequent.
