Afternoon Sky before the Rains

I captured this image over the past weekend. My youngest and I were out for a walk in the later afternoon and I took this shot. Later in the evening, she was teasing me for being on my phone and I explained that sometime, I have to edit the photo to make it look the way my eye saw it. I showed her the original photo and this version and she agreed that it was now much closer to what was there for us.

Tuesday Free Choice: I've set up a camera on a tripod just inside our dining room window to try to catch birds around our feeders. I've capture all kinds of birds, but this bluebird was the best so far. He ate for a bit, then flew down to the desk rail and sat for a portrait. We have other birds and you may see more over this season but I love the colors of the bluebirds - spring is almost in full swing.

Red Tinged Clouds over the Trees Photo of the Day 345/366 I took the photo last week on the way home. It was a wonderful sunset sky and I couldn't pass up taking a number of shots while it was available. These clouds with the red edges from the setting sun were a wonderful sight over these trees just behind the rolling field in the foreground. A nice evening sky for sure.

    Photo of the Day 307/365  Autumn Colors on Display by the Creek This photo was taken last weekend on our mini-vacation. We were on our way home and happened to find a pull-off - in the rain - and I took some photos by this creek. The colors just seemed to pop in the damp drizzly weather but the camera couldn't quite capture the bright colors. I didn't want to over-edit it but this is close to what I experienced that moment.

Tracks into the Sunset Photo of the Day 342/366 This photo was taken last evening on the way home from work. I took a number of photos and could not quite get the sun peeking through  the clouds. This is the closest I got. I love the colors in the sky and the reflections in the railroad tracks. I've taken this scene before, but it always makes me think of life moving on and on, rolling into the sunset of life - as I get older, those thoughts become more frequent.
