Copse of Trees in the Setting Sunlight

I took this photo a few days ago. We were out on a drive and saw the sun come in and out of the rain clouds. We happened up a road and my wife asked me if I wanted to go to a spot we knew with an overlook. I said yes and this was one of those shots. I like it becuase of the depth of the photo - there are many details,the more you look - and, of course, the sky doesn't hurt.

Thursday Colors: This photo was taken from my archives. You can see why it stands out - the colors are bright and deep. The reds and purples are the way they were - no edits - and the grasses sticking up at the roadside add a depth to this photo. Colors is the them and I think this one delivers.

Red Tinged Clouds over the Trees Photo of the Day 345/366 I took the photo last week on the way home. It was a wonderful sunset sky and I couldn't pass up taking a number of shots while it was available. These clouds with the red edges from the setting sun were a wonderful sight over these trees just behind the rolling field in the foreground. A nice evening sky for sure.

    Photo of the Day 307/365  Autumn Colors on Display by the Creek This photo was taken last weekend on our mini-vacation. We were on our way home and happened to find a pull-off - in the rain - and I took some photos by this creek. The colors just seemed to pop in the damp drizzly weather but the camera couldn't quite capture the bright colors. I didn't want to over-edit it but this is close to what I experienced that moment.

Tracks into the Sunset Photo of the Day 342/366 This photo was taken last evening on the way home from work. I took a number of photos and could not quite get the sun peeking through  the clouds. This is the closest I got. I love the colors in the sky and the reflections in the railroad tracks. I've taken this scene before, but it always makes me think of life moving on and on, rolling into the sunset of life - as I get older, those thoughts become more frequent.
