 Afternoon View on the Farm

Photo of the Day 116/365

This photo was taken last year and I never got around to posting it. I love the afternoon glow inthe saky and the light on the furrouws in the field. The photo has more than a few touchpoints in my memory banks. One is that the simple farm reminds me of some of my youth on a farm - simple with no TV, no computer, barely any radio and all the time in the world to explore the fields and woods.

Saturday Nature: I have a camera set up on a tripod facing our backyard so I can easily capture (or attempt to capture) birds flitting about our feeders. It's not that I'm an avid birder - I'm not - I just love to capture images of nature and having the birds come to us is one way I can do that. It's not easy - they fly every time I get near my window and I have to be patient in waiting for them to settle back down.

Red Tinged Clouds over the Trees Photo of the Day 345/366 I took the photo last week on the way home. It was a wonderful sunset sky and I couldn't pass up taking a number of shots while it was available. These clouds with the red edges from the setting sun were a wonderful sight over these trees just behind the rolling field in the foreground. A nice evening sky for sure.

    Photo of the Day 307/365  Autumn Colors on Display by the Creek This photo was taken last weekend on our mini-vacation. We were on our way home and happened to find a pull-off - in the rain - and I took some photos by this creek. The colors just seemed to pop in the damp drizzly weather but the camera couldn't quite capture the bright colors. I didn't want to over-edit it but this is close to what I experienced that moment.

Tracks into the Sunset Photo of the Day 342/366 This photo was taken last evening on the way home from work. I took a number of photos and could not quite get the sun peeking through  the clouds. This is the closest I got. I love the colors in the sky and the reflections in the railroad tracks. I've taken this scene before, but it always makes me think of life moving on and on, rolling into the sunset of life - as I get older, those thoughts become more frequent.
