Sunset and Field Grass

Photo of the Day 117/365

This photo was taken last evening while out on a "sunset walk". I was hoping to see some clouds and was blessed on my return trip with these clouds just surrounding the setting sun. I took a load of images, but I like how the grass was lit by the fading sun and the way the clouds "crown" the sunset. Spring has spring but the wind made if feel cold on the walk, but well worth it.

Sunday Monochrome: This photo was taken from my archives and was taken a few years ago. I believe I was out walking when I noted the trails of clouds over the horizon. As I recall, there wasn't the usual reds and golds, so I decided to try black and white and I think it came out well.

Red Tinged Clouds over the Trees Photo of the Day 345/366 I took the photo last week on the way home. It was a wonderful sunset sky and I couldn't pass up taking a number of shots while it was available. These clouds with the red edges from the setting sun were a wonderful sight over these trees just behind the rolling field in the foreground. A nice evening sky for sure.

    Photo of the Day 307/365  Autumn Colors on Display by the Creek This photo was taken last weekend on our mini-vacation. We were on our way home and happened to find a pull-off - in the rain - and I took some photos by this creek. The colors just seemed to pop in the damp drizzly weather but the camera couldn't quite capture the bright colors. I didn't want to over-edit it but this is close to what I experienced that moment.

Tracks into the Sunset Photo of the Day 342/366 This photo was taken last evening on the way home from work. I took a number of photos and could not quite get the sun peeking through  the clouds. This is the closest I got. I love the colors in the sky and the reflections in the railroad tracks. I've taken this scene before, but it always makes me think of life moving on and on, rolling into the sunset of life - as I get older, those thoughts become more frequent.
