This phoeo has been sitting at thr front of my archives for a few weeks now. I wanted to post it, but better photos of sunsets and such kept overriding my desire to post this. While this photo is at least a decade old, the power of the ocena, the wild sky from the just-passed storm, and the singular guardian lighthouse all pull together to make this one of my favorite photos.

My Son, His Wife, and Smokey the Bear

Friday People: I know this is just a family snapshot - but what a memory for me. We were on a family getaway with my oldest and his wife. We were sightseeing when we read that Smokey the Bear was making an appearance at a local State Park. My son and his wife were SO excited (really) to see him that this portrait carries many memories with it.

Red Tinged Clouds over the Trees Photo of the Day 345/366 I took the photo last week on the way home. It was a wonderful sunset sky and I couldn't pass up taking a number of shots while it was available. These clouds with the red edges from the setting sun were a wonderful sight over these trees just behind the rolling field in the foreground. A nice evening sky for sure.

    Photo of the Day 307/365  Autumn Colors on Display by the Creek This photo was taken last weekend on our mini-vacation. We were on our way home and happened to find a pull-off - in the rain - and I took some photos by this creek. The colors just seemed to pop in the damp drizzly weather but the camera couldn't quite capture the bright colors. I didn't want to over-edit it but this is close to what I experienced that moment.

Tracks into the Sunset Photo of the Day 342/366 This photo was taken last evening on the way home from work. I took a number of photos and could not quite get the sun peeking through  the clouds. This is the closest I got. I love the colors in the sky and the reflections in the railroad tracks. I've taken this scene before, but it always makes me think of life moving on and on, rolling into the sunset of life - as I get older, those thoughts become more frequent.
