Sun Setting Between the Trees

I was watching last evening for the sun to set. The sun was bright and I didn't want to just go out to find the sky too bright to photograph, so I waited. I was able to get out to a good vantage point just as the sun was setting. I was afraid the clouds might make the sky too milky, but that, in the end, didn't happen. I got a wonderful setting sun amongst the bands of clouds. A nice end to Mother's Day and the weekend.

Monday Fill-the-Frame: This photo was taken a couple of years ago while on a lunchtime walk at work. On campus, there are many nature walks and they are particularly nice after the students are on summer break. At this tiem, there is little extraneous noise and few visitors,so lunchtime walks are peaceful and allows one's mind to rest.

Red Tinged Clouds over the Trees Photo of the Day 345/366 I took the photo last week on the way home. It was a wonderful sunset sky and I couldn't pass up taking a number of shots while it was available. These clouds with the red edges from the setting sun were a wonderful sight over these trees just behind the rolling field in the foreground. A nice evening sky for sure.

    Photo of the Day 307/365  Autumn Colors on Display by the Creek This photo was taken last weekend on our mini-vacation. We were on our way home and happened to find a pull-off - in the rain - and I took some photos by this creek. The colors just seemed to pop in the damp drizzly weather but the camera couldn't quite capture the bright colors. I didn't want to over-edit it but this is close to what I experienced that moment.

Tracks into the Sunset Photo of the Day 342/366 This photo was taken last evening on the way home from work. I took a number of photos and could not quite get the sun peeking through  the clouds. This is the closest I got. I love the colors in the sky and the reflections in the railroad tracks. I've taken this scene before, but it always makes me think of life moving on and on, rolling into the sunset of life - as I get older, those thoughts become more frequent.
