Afternoon on a Dirt Road

This photo was taken from my archives. The sunset would have been beautiful last evening except I was in my class teaching as our lead instructor had to take the night off. So, instead, I am posting a photo taken on a similar day when we had our cabin. This dirt road was walked many times with my family in all seasons, but his one is one of my favorites. The rains had passed and the fading sunset sky was just visible through the trees. It still brings back memories of how peaceful it was, there.

Friday People: This photo was taken about 15 years ago when I did a photo shoot for a friend's family. They wanted photos of everyone and family groups, and such, but they wanted some newborn photos. This child did not disappoint - he was such a happy baby and his smile just melted your heart. I'm so glad to have captured this child's smile. He's 15 years old now and a few states away but we are "facebook friends" so we stay in touch.

Red Tinged Clouds over the Trees Photo of the Day 345/366 I took the photo last week on the way home. It was a wonderful sunset sky and I couldn't pass up taking a number of shots while it was available. These clouds with the red edges from the setting sun were a wonderful sight over these trees just behind the rolling field in the foreground. A nice evening sky for sure.

    Photo of the Day 307/365  Autumn Colors on Display by the Creek This photo was taken last weekend on our mini-vacation. We were on our way home and happened to find a pull-off - in the rain - and I took some photos by this creek. The colors just seemed to pop in the damp drizzly weather but the camera couldn't quite capture the bright colors. I didn't want to over-edit it but this is close to what I experienced that moment.

Tracks into the Sunset Photo of the Day 342/366 This photo was taken last evening on the way home from work. I took a number of photos and could not quite get the sun peeking through  the clouds. This is the closest I got. I love the colors in the sky and the reflections in the railroad tracks. I've taken this scene before, but it always makes me think of life moving on and on, rolling into the sunset of life - as I get older, those thoughts become more frequent.
