Sunset Clouds over the River

Sometimes, on rainy, cloudy days, I look back at the photos in my archives and see photos that weren't quite what I saw when I took the photo. I don't like to over-edit my photos and, in many cases, don't edit at all. I like to get it right first time - but - sometimes, the photo languishes without some editing love - this is is one such photo. The original was so bland - but had potential - too much dark/light for colors to come through.  With some editing magic, NOW it looks the way I remember the scene - the way I like it.

Thursday Colors: This photo was taken at a green house a few years ago. I took it thinking it might look good in black and white, and it might, but the stark bright colors made me leave it.  I really like the contrasting red and light green. I really think it meets the theme for today - colors.

Red Tinged Clouds over the Trees Photo of the Day 345/366 I took the photo last week on the way home. It was a wonderful sunset sky and I couldn't pass up taking a number of shots while it was available. These clouds with the red edges from the setting sun were a wonderful sight over these trees just behind the rolling field in the foreground. A nice evening sky for sure.

    Photo of the Day 307/365  Autumn Colors on Display by the Creek This photo was taken last weekend on our mini-vacation. We were on our way home and happened to find a pull-off - in the rain - and I took some photos by this creek. The colors just seemed to pop in the damp drizzly weather but the camera couldn't quite capture the bright colors. I didn't want to over-edit it but this is close to what I experienced that moment.

Tracks into the Sunset Photo of the Day 342/366 This photo was taken last evening on the way home from work. I took a number of photos and could not quite get the sun peeking through  the clouds. This is the closest I got. I love the colors in the sky and the reflections in the railroad tracks. I've taken this scene before, but it always makes me think of life moving on and on, rolling into the sunset of life - as I get older, those thoughts become more frequent.
