Afternoon on the Open Road

This photo was taken some time ago and pulled out of my archives for posting. It's been rainy and cloudy so I post things from the past that I think are nice, as opposed to the gray these past days. I remember that there was ao little traffic that afternoon, that I could get out of the car and stand in the middle of the road to get this shot - it doesn't happen often but if you can, on a pretty afternoon, you take advantage of it.

Friday People:  We were at a wedding this past weekend and the gent in front of us was holding his daugher.  Some friends of our family sat in the row beside this little girl. The husband began to play with the little girl and she was giggling and cooing. When he stopped and pulled back, this look came upon her face.  I could not resist getting a few shots. I eally like this one.

Red Tinged Clouds over the Trees Photo of the Day 345/366 I took the photo last week on the way home. It was a wonderful sunset sky and I couldn't pass up taking a number of shots while it was available. These clouds with the red edges from the setting sun were a wonderful sight over these trees just behind the rolling field in the foreground. A nice evening sky for sure.

    Photo of the Day 307/365  Autumn Colors on Display by the Creek This photo was taken last weekend on our mini-vacation. We were on our way home and happened to find a pull-off - in the rain - and I took some photos by this creek. The colors just seemed to pop in the damp drizzly weather but the camera couldn't quite capture the bright colors. I didn't want to over-edit it but this is close to what I experienced that moment.

Tracks into the Sunset Photo of the Day 342/366 This photo was taken last evening on the way home from work. I took a number of photos and could not quite get the sun peeking through  the clouds. This is the closest I got. I love the colors in the sky and the reflections in the railroad tracks. I've taken this scene before, but it always makes me think of life moving on and on, rolling into the sunset of life - as I get older, those thoughts become more frequent.
