Golden Sunset on the Cove

After a long day of shopping, my son and his wife decided to do some coastal rock climbing .As they explored the rocks and my wife and I watched for loons (yes, we saw some and heard one) - the sun kept ketting lower and lower. As the day came to a close, I was able to capture a nice golden photo of the setting sun over the water. 'Twas a good day.

Wednesday Design: The Bar Harbor Hotel and property is a mainsay in Bar Harbor. The green lawns with plenty of places to rest, the adjacent park, the tell-tale yellow umbrellas - all add to the grand design of this hotel. The hotel harkens to the grand buildings of Bar Harbor with grand families (Rockefeller, Vanderbilt..etc). It is a grand place that keeps getting better without losing it's charm.

Red Tinged Clouds over the Trees Photo of the Day 345/366 I took the photo last week on the way home. It was a wonderful sunset sky and I couldn't pass up taking a number of shots while it was available. These clouds with the red edges from the setting sun were a wonderful sight over these trees just behind the rolling field in the foreground. A nice evening sky for sure.

    Photo of the Day 307/365  Autumn Colors on Display by the Creek This photo was taken last weekend on our mini-vacation. We were on our way home and happened to find a pull-off - in the rain - and I took some photos by this creek. The colors just seemed to pop in the damp drizzly weather but the camera couldn't quite capture the bright colors. I didn't want to over-edit it but this is close to what I experienced that moment.

Tracks into the Sunset Photo of the Day 342/366 This photo was taken last evening on the way home from work. I took a number of photos and could not quite get the sun peeking through  the clouds. This is the closest I got. I love the colors in the sky and the reflections in the railroad tracks. I've taken this scene before, but it always makes me think of life moving on and on, rolling into the sunset of life - as I get older, those thoughts become more frequent.
