Red Sun Pond Raeflection

One the way to pick up some dinner at a take out place, I saw the burning red sun in the sky. I mentioned to my wife that perhaps on the way back to our cabin, we could pull over at a favorite spot and try to get some photos. The place was just right and the angle was just right but all I had was my phone so here is the best I could do with it. I like it - but it IS real - no fakery her.

Thursday Color: We went to a butterfly garden yesterday. The butterflies are not in residence yet, but the volunteers are busy with plantings and mulching to make the place just perfect for the butterflies and the people who want to see them. The garden is wild so they must attract the butterflies and indeed they do. These petunias are an example of the flowers they have there. I loved the bright, vibrant color.

Red Tinged Clouds over the Trees Photo of the Day 345/366 I took the photo last week on the way home. It was a wonderful sunset sky and I couldn't pass up taking a number of shots while it was available. These clouds with the red edges from the setting sun were a wonderful sight over these trees just behind the rolling field in the foreground. A nice evening sky for sure.

    Photo of the Day 307/365  Autumn Colors on Display by the Creek This photo was taken last weekend on our mini-vacation. We were on our way home and happened to find a pull-off - in the rain - and I took some photos by this creek. The colors just seemed to pop in the damp drizzly weather but the camera couldn't quite capture the bright colors. I didn't want to over-edit it but this is close to what I experienced that moment.

Tracks into the Sunset Photo of the Day 342/366 This photo was taken last evening on the way home from work. I took a number of photos and could not quite get the sun peeking through  the clouds. This is the closest I got. I love the colors in the sky and the reflections in the railroad tracks. I've taken this scene before, but it always makes me think of life moving on and on, rolling into the sunset of life - as I get older, those thoughts become more frequent.
