Sun Sinking into the Evening

Yesterday was my anniversary so I was trying to get home early from class. I left on time, so I could stop at a store and pick up something I thought my wife would appreciate. I made all that happen and on the way home I noticed, of course, the setting sun. I stopped and took a few pics before I got home. This, in my opinion, was the best one. I love the bands of clouds on the sun, and the subtle view of the far hills and the trees help to balance it.

Thursday Colors: If you know me, you know my favorite color is purple. My favorite flower is lilac, folowed by lupines (both of which I saw last week!) - but the color of this clematis was so vibrant that I had to take a photo of it. It's not my favorite flower, but the color fits the bill for me.

Red Tinged Clouds over the Trees Photo of the Day 345/366 I took the photo last week on the way home. It was a wonderful sunset sky and I couldn't pass up taking a number of shots while it was available. These clouds with the red edges from the setting sun were a wonderful sight over these trees just behind the rolling field in the foreground. A nice evening sky for sure.

    Photo of the Day 307/365  Autumn Colors on Display by the Creek This photo was taken last weekend on our mini-vacation. We were on our way home and happened to find a pull-off - in the rain - and I took some photos by this creek. The colors just seemed to pop in the damp drizzly weather but the camera couldn't quite capture the bright colors. I didn't want to over-edit it but this is close to what I experienced that moment.

Tracks into the Sunset Photo of the Day 342/366 This photo was taken last evening on the way home from work. I took a number of photos and could not quite get the sun peeking through  the clouds. This is the closest I got. I love the colors in the sky and the reflections in the railroad tracks. I've taken this scene before, but it always makes me think of life moving on and on, rolling into the sunset of life - as I get older, those thoughts become more frequent.
